Domus Antiqua Residence ad Alberobello in Puglia

“DOMUS ANTIQUA” RESIDENCE, “DOMUS ANTIQUA” RESIDENCE, opened in 2016, rises on ashes of the old municipal slaughterhouse of Alberobello. A building, dating back approximately to the 1915, was completed under the administration of Pietro Campione, 34th mayor of the town.
The old building was re-established and today is completely renovated and modernized. It is situated at the entrance to Alberobello, 50 m far from the railway station, and it is bordered by the Museum Winery Albea (Cantina Museo Albea).
The residence, created inside it thanks to the family Scianni, is set to become a benchmark within the facilities designed for short, medium and long term for tourism, business and more.
The structure looks like a small borough that recalls the enchanting Apulian historical centers, characterized by the whiteness of the stone and lime.
The care and attention to details, the friendly service, the comfortable and elegant atmosphere make it, a “luxury” structure. We looked at our personal travels, identifying those particulars which are the difference between a 5 star hotel and an “experience in borough”.
The imposing structure blends tradition and innovation, modernity and authenticity, simplicity and grandeur in a balance of indisputable harmony.

We purchased the former municipal slaughterhouse about 15 years ago. In those times, it was nothing more than a decadent building, abandoned for many years, that many people advised to tear down to build apartments.
On the contrary, we have always believed that a structure of this magnitude and historical value should be recovered and shared. Precisely for this reason, we started a long and continuously changing way to create an intimate and stylish residence.
The building have undergone a painstaking restoration process, able to keep intact the original features, but enriching it with all the modern comforts.
To restore the original structure, our local craftsmen worked with care and devotion.
The furniture and architectural details got from Italy, the plants typical of our land (olive tree, prickly pear, arbutus berry) … every detail reflects the traditional Apulian style.
After years of hard work, the residence has become that elegant and welcoming place that we always dreamed and desired.
The residence is still in a development and growth phase, and with it also grows our passion so that our guests can feel at home … away from home.

The mini-apartments complex is located along an avenue that culminates in a spacious “patio”, with its three large stone arches. The 8 mini-apartments are placed just along the avenue and inside the “patio”.
Each apartment, from the smallest (about 45 sqm) to the largest (about 65 sqm), with private entrance, is furnished in classical style and is equipped with all the modern comforts. Each of them has a double bedroom, bathroom with shower, living room/kitchen with cooking corner and sofa double bed, led tv, wi-fi, air conditioning and automatic heating.
The residence also offers a bright living area available to all guests, equipped with comfortable sofas, bar and TV.
Moreover during the summer the patio comes alive thanks to the presence of comfortable and cozy rattan sitting areas that welcome guests who wish to stay outdoors.
